A tad belated, I know. But apart from the fact I still have artwork I need to ship to some people, there really is nothing new to report on the Hepcats front. I’ve been working full time (QC for a e-pub company), which is a nice thing to have in this economy, and it’s afforded me the comfort of having bills paid and no disputes with the Zombie Landlady (unlike 2007-08, years that are best forgotten) while I continue the arduous process of getting my documentary together and completing another script project on my downtime. So, yes, I’d post more here, but there’s nothing that exciting happening directly related to comics work, for which I apologize. Any work on Hepcats at this point, as it’s no longer the thing I’m trying to do to earn a living, will be for the moment low on the priority scale, and I hope folks understand that.

As an ausitnite I completley agree with you. But as a comics fan I feel that Hepcats needs to be brought out for comics today as there is no originality out there anymore. It was refreshing to re read the hepcats books (indiividually mind you) and feel that it can be updated for todays time (mayby them dealing with starting families, this economy, the war, etc…). All i’m saying is to not put them on the back burner but to do this alongside what is going on now. Thanks for the great read. (PS my friend who lent me the books also wrote to you in issue 5).

Martin,
All understandable. Things happen. Sometimes all together at the wrong time same. I’ve been a fan of your comic since the AP reprinting and its one of the few stories from my exploration into indie comics that has stayed iconic in my mind. Your story hit me at the right time in my life, and I loved the increasingly abstract paneling and hinting at further dream images as we saw in the last issue. Someday it would be great to see that Snowblind storyline come to life again in any form, but I understand that, for reasons you’ve stated, this isn’t the time. Everything comes full circle eventually.
I’m keeping an ear out for news about your filmmaking efforts in the meantime. As someone else who’s in that crazy business, I wish you luck. Don’t ever give up from what you really want to accomplish, even if it takes years.
